BIOGRAPHY
Anja von Kalinowski graduated with an MA in Fine Art from City & Guilds of London Art School in 2013, specialising in Oil Painting and Embroidery. She previously completed a BA in Theatre Studies from Croydon College of Art & Design in 2000, focusing on set design for opera and scenic painting and proceeded to take an apprenticeship in women’s tailoring at the prestigious Elise Topell Couture atelier in Wiesbaden, Germany. Anja worked at Vivienne Westwood’s Couture department until 2011, while simultaneously studying “Traditional Needlework” at the Royal School of Needlework after being rewarded with the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship in 2010. She worked as a tailor to Her Majesty the Queen throughout the Diamond Jubilee Year 2012.
